is also likely to affect the western Himalayan region from Feb 17, which might have a slight impact on the western parts of the state, according to meteorologists.
"A fall of 1-3°C in minimum temperatures may be witnessed across the region in the next 24 hours. And the mercury levels are expected to rise gradually thereafter," said the weather bulletin of the day. The report also mentioned a drop of 2-4°C in temperatures across many areas of the state over the past 24 hours.
Meteorologists further predicted a rise of 3-4°C in daytime temperatures across the state over the next three to four days.
"A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from Feb 17," added the weather bulletin.

Explaining its probable impact on Bihar, meteorologist Kumar Gaurav said it was not expected to have much effect on the state. Only parts of the western region are likely to witness slight cloud formation as a consequence of the phenomenon. "The upcoming western disturbance, whose repercussions could be seen from Feb 17 to Feb 20 in the western Himalayan region, may not cause any rain or any other significant impact in Bihar. But only high-level clouds are expected in western parts that may lead to a little rise in night temperatures of the places," said Gaurav.
He added that the surface winds currently blowing at high speeds in many areas, including Patna, were contributing to the colder conditions despite bright sunshine.
The highest and lowest temperatures recorded in the state on the day were 28.3°C in Aurangabad and 8.3°C in Sitamarhi, respectively. In Patna, the maximum and minimum temperatures stood at 25.4°C and 13.6°C, respectively.
