Here | After returned to NeueHouse Hollywood in Los Angeles May 8, welcoming denim insiders for an evening of cultivating meaningful community connections. The event was produced by industry veterans Erin Barajas, formerly of Kingpins, and Denim Dudes, the denim consultancy and forecasting firm founded by Amy Leverton.

Ahead of the 55th NAACP Image Awards, the civil-rights organization hosted the complementary NAACP Image Awards Fashion Show, also in its 55th year. Black Design Collective co-founder and veteran fashion designer Kevan Hall was the show’s executive producer, and Ainsley Connell was co-producer.

Just in time for the Academy Awards on March 10, brilliantly detailed costumes are on display at the annual ASU FIDM Museum “Art of Costume Design in Film” exhibit, which opened March 5 and is running through April 20. Included are Best Costume Design nominees “Barbie,” “Killers of the Flower Moon” “Napoleon,” “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things.”

BDC and NAACP Reflect on ‘Images: Fashion Moments in Time’

Ahead of the 54th NAACP Image Awards, which were held Feb. 25, the Black Design Collective and the NAACP hosted an “Images: Fashion Moments in Time” luncheon on Feb. 23 at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles to honor outstanding work in the recently added categories of costume design, hairstyling and makeup.
