Euroleague - Bayern-sign-Wenyen-Gabriel

Defending champion FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball (BBL) inked 28-year old South Sudanese international 208cm center Wenyen Gabriel (college: Kentucky) for upcoming season. Gabriel is the second import player in the roster as Serbian Vladimir Lucic signed here earlier.
He played most recently at Panathinaikos in Greek GBL league. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 14 GBL games he averaged 7.0ppg and 4.9rpg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. Gabriel also played 23 games in Euroleague where he had 6.0ppg and 3.6rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. The other team he played shortly was Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israeli Winner League. In 6 games he recorded 5.5ppg and 4.8rpg. Gabriel contributed to his team winning the Cup. He also played 9 games in Euroleague where he got 5.8ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1bpg.
Gabriel represented South Sudan at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) last year. His stats at that event were 3 games: 5.7ppg, Reb-5(9.0rpg), 1.3apg, Blocks-1(2.0bpg), FGP: 50.0%, 3PT: 25.0%, FT: 0.0%.
He is a very experienced player. Gabriel has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Puerto Rico (Vaqueros), NBA (New Orleans Pelicans, Boston Celtics, LA Clippers, LA Lakers and Brooklyn Nets), NBA G League (Stockton, Wisconsin Gabrielrd and Erie BH) and NBA Summer League (Sacramento Kings).
He graduated from University of Kentucky in 2018 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
