George Papas

Panionios Athens (GBL) signed 27-year old Greek-American international 195cm guard George Papas (college: Monmouth, agency: Octagon Europe). He joins another USA player Markel Starks who is already in the roster. He played there last season. The last season he played at another Greek team Peristeri BWin Athens where in 27 GBL games he recorded 10.9ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.4apg. He helped them to make it to the Supercup semifinals. He also played 8 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 7.9ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg. Papas was a member of Greek Senior National Team two years ago.
He has played previously for two other teams: Olympiacos and Promitheas.
His team won the Greek Supercup in 2024.
Papas graduated from Monmouth University in 2022 and it's his fourth season in pro basketball.
