Erling Haaland shares new Man City fitness update ahead of Plymouth FA Cup clash

‘s side were knocked out of the Champions League.

Haaland came back with a bang, however, scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday (26 February) and was seemingly robbed of the chance of scoring a second.

He had the ball in the back of the net, but after a lengthy VAR check, the Man City striker was adjudged to have handled the ball in the build-up to the goal.

With Arne Slot’s Liverpool side likely to win the Premier League this season, City’s main aim should be to finish in the top-four spots, but there is also the chance for silverware with an upcoming FA Cup tie.

Guardiola’s side welcome a struggling Championship team, Plymouth, to the Etihad Stadium on 1 March, with a spot in the quarter-finals at stake.

Taking to Instagram [27 February], Haaland shared an image of himself on the exercise bike, attempting to stay fit in between games, with the caption: “Recharging,” with a battery emoji.

Given that rival fans often refer to the striker as a “robot”, the post will do nothing to combat those jokey accusations, but his records on the pitch are almost too incredible to explain.

With winning the Premier League out of the question, now knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, and out of the EFL Cup to Spurs, there is little left to fight for.

Of course, losing out on Champions League football would be a tremendous blow, and winning the FA Cup only qualifies a team for the Europa League, which is just not good enough.

It could be Guardiola’s final season at Man City, or at least it has been tipped to be, so the upcoming Premier League fixtures are incredibly crucial at this point in the season.

Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Man United are all on the horizon, all of whom could cause trouble for his Man City team in the form they’re currently in.

Keeping Haaland fit until the end of the season will be key if City are to end the season on a high, and considering how on-fire he was against Spurs, there should be no issues unless injury strikes again.
