Eric Bauza Biography: Career

In an exclusive interview with uInterview, Bauza discussed how his childhood inspired his career.

“When we were all watching Saturday morning cartoons, you know, or everyday after-school at four o’clock I would sit there and watch Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Batman the animated series, and this was in the 90s, the renaissance of Warner Brothers’ cartoons – Saturday mornings and then after school, that was my real education, my real school was watching these cartoons.”

Following his internship at Spümcø, his biggest aspirations began to come true. Bauza got a job working as a production assistant for animated series’ Weekend Pussy Hunt and The Ripping Friends, where he earned his first voice acting role, voicing several characters in the series. His breakthrough role followed shortly after, when he became Stimpy on Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon.

From there, his career quickly grew, he began to act in cartoons across networks. For Nickelodeon, he acted as Rodolfo Rivera/White Pantera in El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and as various voices in Avatar: The Last Airbender. For Cartoon Network, he earned several roles in shows like Adventure Time, Rick and Morty, and The Amazing World of Gumball. For Disney and Disney Jr., he voiced characters in Star vs. The Forces of Evil and Muppet Babies.

In an exclusive interview with uInterview, Bauza commented on his work in Rick and Morty.

“I was in the pilot for Rick and Morty, the very very first episode, and I was the big bugs, one of the xenomorph bugs and he’s the customs agent and he goes ‘All right, you two come over here’ and of course he’s talking to Rick and Morty,” Bauza reminisced. “He’s like ‘We want to put you through the new machine’, ‘What new machine?’, and he’s like ‘The new machine that detects stuff all the way up your butt.’ Lines like that crack me up.”

Bauza also began to land roles in animated movies such as various Scooby-Doo films, Smurfs: The Lost Village, The Emoji Movie, and Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts.

He began to work in the Looney Tunes franchise in 2011 when he voiced Daffy Duck in the Animaniacs reboot. His work in the franchise only grew, and he was hired by Cartoon Network for The Looney Tunes Cartoons in 2020 where he voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Marvin the Martian, and Pepé Le Pew.

Recently, Bauza voiced Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in the 2025 film The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. In an exclusive interview with uInterview, Bauza reflected on his experience creating the film.

“The fact that it wasn’t even done at Warner Brothers feature, this was done at Warner Brothers animation for televised production,” Bauza explained. “I think they knew what they had on their hands was better than anything they could have ever expected to be on streaming or on all the small screen, so they had decided to take the big leap and see if they could try their luck with finding someone like Ketchup that would help put it up on the big screen.”

“I’m very grateful to be a part of, like you said, the first standalone feature with Looney Tunes,” Bauza said. He then smiled as he transitioned into his Porky Pig voice, “and no or , sorry guys, maybe was available but I don’t know.”

The film follows Daffy and Porky as they find out their local bubblegum factory is a secret evil alien laboratory, and must work together to save the day. Besdied Bauza, the film also features popular voice actors like as Mme Grecht, as The Invader, and as . In the same interview, Bauza commended the talents of his costars and their contributions to the comedic world.

“Laraine Newman and Peter MacNicol and Wayne Knight, oh my gosh, these are people that, again, I grew up watching and I consider the Mount Rushmore of comedy and to know that my vocal tracks are being edited and being spliced with theirs is a dream come true.”

Bauza also detailed how the collaboration process worked to make the film so successful.

“For a feature film where you do have more time than television, we will do one pass as Porky and the second pass as Daffy, and we leave it up to people like , the director, and n to put the right takes together,” Bauza said. “And, according to Pete, he said about 9 times out of 10 when they would have the conversation between these two, whether they were in casual conversation, if they were in space and the ship is about to crash, or if they were talking about…” Bauza paused to switch to Daffy Duck’s voice, “…having a crush on petunia at the diner,” he declared, and calmly switched back to his regular voice, “that 9 times out of 10 whatever takes they selected worked.”

Eric Bauza Biography: Personal Life

Bauza married animator and character designer Jessica Lynn Borutski on July 2, 2016, and that previous March the two had welcomed their son, Ryker.

Ryker is an important part of Bauza’s life, in an exclusive interview with uInterview he described bringing him along to work one day.

“More recently we had these crazy turn of events called the L.A. wildfires and my son’s school was closed for several days and unfortunately my son’s nanny was occupied taking care of her life and her property so I had my son with me, but I was in an area that was completely safe and work was still happening, work was still going on even though we were under red flag alerts,” Bauza said. “And of course the one day I have to bring my son into work with me is the one day I have a Rick and Morty session. And I’ve worked on this show for many seasons, like a handful, not a lot of episodes but some really good ones. Of course the one day that I bring my son in I have to swear, the most swearing I’ve ever done in my life and of course I’m fully prepared, I go ‘Bring your iPad, bring your headphones, that way you don’t hear anything I’m saying.’ And then of course I’m halfway through my script and the producers are cracking up because they could see that my son has just been listening to me the whole time, so I’m just waiting for child services to come at this point to take him back – he learned some really weird words that day that I said ‘just ask your mother,'” Bauza said, laughing.
