Emmy Collins, exploring the 60s Fashion sphere
The popular saying that fashion runs 360 degrees resonates with Emmy Collins collections from the 60s, a passionate designing theme that came to live when the London/Lagos base brand showcased its showroom collections in Ikoyi Lagos to prominent fashion lovers who came from all walks of life including Dr Allen Onyema the CEO of Air Peace.
On the bold era design passion, the Creative Director of the prominent fashion brand, Emmy Collins, well known for his sartorial taste in fashion said: “I always say that I’m stuck in the 60s. I can’t get out of the 60s. So, all my inspirations come from the 60s. Every collection is inspired by the 60s. What I do is that I’m exploring the 60s. And for me, I don’t believe that I even have enough time on this earth to explore the 60s – I will be exploring it till I die. This is actually what fashion should be; freedom of expression. Sometimes, you can actually tell who someone is just by how he dresses – someone who’s not afraid to express themselves through fashion. However, the trend today is that people tend to dress according to other people which shouldn’t be as everyone has their choices of style and what suits me may not look good on another person.”
The Creative Director also revealed that the brand will launch a complete womenswear range in September with a runway show.
