Emiliano Martinez has been linked with a move to Man United, and the club has begun talks with the World Cup winner, according to reports in Argentina.

Martinez appeared to bid Aston Villa goodbye on their last home game of the season and was strongly linked with a move to Man United. He received a red card in the last game of the season, which was against Man United.

The Argentine was visibly emotional as he walked around Villa Park after the final whistle. He blew kisses to the fans, leaving many questions in the minds of Villa fans.

He still has a contract with Aston Villa until 2029, having signed a new deal in August 2024. He joined the Premier League club in 2020 from Arsenal and has made over 150 appearances for the club.

According to ESPN Argentina, the Red Devils have opened talks with the goalkeeper, who is excited about a possible move, per journalist Leo Paradizo.

"Talks have already begun, contacts so that Martinez can join Manchester United," he said. "Of all the possibilities that he has in his immediate future, Manchester United is the one that excites him the most."

Man United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and have been strongly linked with a move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. They are aiming to add reinforcements in the summer transfer window after a poor season.

Earlier, reported that Man United will likely face a major hurdle if they try to sign Victor Osimhen.

The Red Devils reportedly view Osimhen as a Plan B after Viktor Gyokeres, but his wage demands could pose a significant hurdle.

Osimhen is one of the world's best strikers, but it will take time before his future is decided.
