State governors have been charged to join the current administration’s drive to bridge the infrastructure gap across the country through Public Private Partnerships.
The Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Dr Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, gave the charge in Abuja after a meeting with the Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was at the ICRC on a visit to discuss key PPP projects being undertaken by the state.
Speaking after the meeting, Ewalefoh said the current administration was committed to collaborations that would bring about improved infrastructure for Nigerians, stressing that the visit of the governor was strategic.
“The meeting today is part of the efforts at the ICRC to forge collaborations between the national and sub-nationals in terms of delivering infrastructure for Nigerians.
“It is important for state governors to collaborate with the commission to advance their PPP endeavours, as the ICRC is ready to provide support and guidance.
On his part, the Ondo state governor stated that the state is looking at delivering the Deep-Sea Port project through the regulatory guidance of the ICRC and assured of “Adherence to due processes of the commission, in ensuring that the project succeeds as it holds tremendous prospects for the state and the country.”
