Eid-ul-Adha: Saleeman praises steadfast faith of Kwara's Muslim community
As Muslims worldwide observe Eid-ul-Adha, Engr. Saleeman Adedoyin Saleeman, Founder and Chairman of the SAS Foundation, has extended greetings to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, and the wider Muslim community in Kwara State and beyond. His message recognized the festival, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, as a moment for reflection and renewal of faith.
In his statement, Engr. Saleeman described Eid-ul-Adha as a time to honor the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), highlighting the values of obedience, compassion, and generosity that the occasion represents. He emphasized that the festival calls on Muslims to submit to the will of Almighty Allah and to practice selflessness and unity.
“Eid-ul-Adha is a significant occasion that reminds us of the values of submission to the will of Almighty Allah, selflessness, and unity. I extend my heartfelt felicitations to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, and to the good people of Kwara State. May this celebration inspire us to renew our collective commitment to peace, love, and service to humanity,” he said.
Engr. Saleeman also acknowledged the steadfast faith and devotion displayed by the Muslim community, praying that their sacrifices and acts of worship be accepted by Allah and that they be granted peace, prosperity, and mercy. He urged that the core principles of kindness, empathy, and sacrifice reflected in the festival be embraced not only during the celebration but as ongoing guides for personal and societal conduct.
He further encouraged Muslims to extend their goodwill beyond spiritual devotion by reaching out to those less fortunate. “The true essence of Eid lies in sharing and compassion,” he said, stressing the importance of social responsibility as part of the observance.
In closing, Engr. Saleeman called for continuous prayers for unity, peace, and development both in Kwara State and Nigeria at large. Recognizing current challenges, he emphasized the need for collective strength through unity and cooperation. “In these challenging times, our collective unity remains our strength. Let us continue to pray and work together for the progress of our dear state and country. May Almighty Allah bless our leaders with wisdom and guide us all toward a more peaceful and prosperous future,” he added.
