The Edo State Football Association has congratulated Emperor Jarrett Tenebe on his recent appointment as the new Chairman of Bendel Insurance Football Club, based in Benin City.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Benin, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, Chairman, Edo State Football Association, described the appointment as well-deserved, expressing confidence in Tenebe’s ability to steer the club to greater success.

He said, “I received the good news this morning of Emperor Jarrett Tenebe’s appointment as Chairman of Bendel Insurance FC. It is a well-deserved appointment by the Edo State Government.

“Emperor Tenebe is no stranger to football administration, having served as a former Nigeria Football Association (NFA) Chairman. During his time, he was actively involved with Bendel Insurance FC, motivating the team to achieve positive results, especially at the start of last season.”

He further stated, “I am very confident that under his leadership, Bendel Insurance will bounce back from narrowly missing out on continental qualification last season. The club’s rich history, including winning the FA Cup in 2023 and previous successes in the WAFU Cup and CAF Cup, will be restored as he leads the team to reclaim its rightful place in Nigerian and African football.”

Erhunmwunse concluded by congratulating Tenebe and his board members, expressing optimism that the appointment will herald a new era of success for the historic club.
