Dr. Adebola Latifat Adeyemi is the Founder and Chief Naturopathic Physician at Khasmal Holistic Naturopathic Health Center. She is a certified and licensed traditional, complementary and alternative medicine practitioner with technical experience and mental prowess that holistically enhance a society where health and wellness are achieved on a mammoth scale. Adeyemi holds a Diploma in Naturopathy and Herbal Therapeutics from Western Ville University, San Diego, California – USA; a Bachelor Degree in Naturopathy from Havila Holistic Medicine Academy, Nigeria and Doctor of Medicine (Alternative Medicine) from Open International University for Complementary Medicines Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is dedicated to helping individuals prevent and reverse chronic health conditions, achieve optimal wellness, and improve their quality of life through non-invasive and non-toxic treatment protocols. In this interview, she speaks on how the centre integrates natural solutions, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, to address underlying causes of illnesses.

My journey began with a deeply personal health challenge. I experienced debilitating lower back pain that left me unable to function normally. Conventional treatments failed to provide relief, which led me to explore alternative therapies. Through this process, I discovered the transformative power of wet Hijama cupping therapy. The immediate relief I experienced sparked my passion for natural health practices. I pursued extensive education and certifications in naturopathy and other complementary therapies. This journey culminated in the establishment of Khasmal Holistic Naturopathic Health Center, where we aim to provide personalised, holistic healthcare to our clients.

At Khasmal, our focus is on treating the whole person—mind, body, and soul. Unlike conventional medicine, which often targets symptoms, we delve into the root causes of health issues. Our approach involves advanced diagnostic tools such as bioresonance analysis and personalised treatment plans. We use therapies like Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy, high-dose vitamin infusions, and detoxification methods, including dietary adjustments, Coffee Enema, and Hijama cupping therapy. We also address emotional and spiritual well-being, recognising the critical role internal harmony plays in healing. This integrative approach ensures that our treatments are both comprehensive and effective.

Cancer is a complex disease that we approach through a metabolic lens. Our holistic cancer protocols include non-invasive therapies that directly address cancer while blocking its metabolic pathways. We use herbal medicine, homeopathics, and nutritional therapeutics that interfere with cancer growth patterns. Managing inflammation is central to our treatment as it is a critical yet often overlooked factor in recovery. Additionally, we support emotional and spiritual health, ensuring a well-rounded approach to healing. Regular lab tests and imaging, alongside bioresonance analysis, help us monitor progress and adjust treatments as needed.

Emotional health is critical because unresolved emotional trauma can significantly impact physical health. For instance, stress and emotional distress can keep the body in a chronic fight-or-flight state, increasing cortisol and adrenaline levels. Over time, this can create a fertile ground for diseases like cancer. Many of our clients, especially women, present with cancers linked to long-standing emotional trauma. Addressing these emotional burdens through counseling and holistic practices is essential for effective healing and recovery.

When it comes to breast cancer – most cancers are as a result of mutation. So, you don’t know when the mutation occurred and then we have the external factor. We can say, some as result of high estrogen, some because of high progesterone, and so it depends on what each person is predisposed to. In natural medicine, there is no one size fits all. You treat each person individually. We call it bio-individuality, where each person is treated according to what they need. But generally, when you are giving advice, you can say women shouldn’t expose themselves too much to toxins, and things that mimic our hormones and alter it. When you have infections treat it. When you notice there is anything going on, address it. If you notice a lump, check what is going on and don’t just leave it there. Some people, they will just leave it there, and some would say they don’t want any treatment, until the breast is about to fall off. We’ve seen cases of where breasts are about to fall off. Cancer is not something that you just talk about. It is deep.

Toxins, pesticides, insecticides, creams, waxing and then taking supplements without proper prescription. Women should know what they are taking, and what their body needs. Take what your body can absorb. I’ve seen two people that have been diagnosed with the type 2 breast cancer, which is the most aggressive one, and I discovered that they were taking hormones. One actually confided in me that she was just taking collagen and she didn’t know that she was causing harm to herself. Any supplement that you want to take, know that it is what you need and be sure that you get it.

Absolutely. Many modern products contain chemicals that can disrupt hormones and contribute to cancer. For example, some beauty products, supplements, and even certain foods can expose individuals to harmful toxins. Women, in particular, are more susceptible due to hormonal differences. We’ve encountered patients who unknowingly worsened their conditions through unregulated supplement use. Education and awareness are critical to preventing these issues.

A common misconception is that natural medicine is unscientific or ineffective. This stems from a lack of understanding and sometimes skepticism about alternative treatments. At Khasmal, we address this by providing evidence-based care, thorough documentation, and patient education. We utilise advanced diagnostic equipment and adhere to strict consent and treatment protocols. By demonstrating results and emphasising proper training and licensure, we build trust and credibility with our patients.

Our equipment is integral to our practice, enabling us to diagnose and treat conditions more effectively. For instance, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy mimics the heart’s frequency to improve cellular regeneration and reduce inflammation. Detoxification machines like FIR saunas and foot detox systems help remove toxins, while bioresonance devices aid in identifying imbalances in the body. These tools complement our holistic therapies, ensuring that we address the root causes of illnesses and not just the symptoms.

The response has been positive, though natural medicine is still gaining acceptance. Many patients turn to us when conventional treatments fail. We’ve seen growing interest, especially from those seeking integrative approaches to cancer care and chronic illnesses. Education and advocacy are essential to overcoming skepticism and highlighting the benefits of natural medicine.

Compared to conventional treatments, natural medicine is often more cost-effective, though it may still seem expensive upfront. Preventive care is always the most economical option, and we emphasise this to our patients. While some advanced therapies and equipment may have higher costs, the long-term benefits often outweigh the initial investment.

People are having that because they see us as quacks. But, if you’re someone that knows what you are doing, know your onions, and are well informed, then you are able to convince them effectively. I have had patients even from the UK and when I present them with my consent form before we proceed with a treatment plan, they are surprised. We also try to do advocacy, and then ensure that people are properly trained and licensed. And then if you decide to go to a natural medicine practitioner, make sure that you are going to the right one. Natural medicine can be used as complimentary; complementing the conventional, alternative; in place of, or integrated, especially in cases of cancer. You have what we call metronomic doses of chemotherapy, as you do that, you are getting nutritional therapies. By the time we do this, people would come to embrace it.

My advice is to seek care from certified and licensed practitioners. Ensure that your chosen provider has the proper training and adheres to ethical and professional standards. Natural medicine is not just about herbs; it encompasses a wide range of therapies and requires expertise. Education and proper consultation are key to achieving the best outcomes.

We are continually evolving to meet the needs of our patients. Our focus remains on integrating traditional wisdom with modern science. We plan to expand our services, enhance patient education, and contribute to the growing acceptance of natural medicine in Nigeria and beyond. We’re committed to making holistic healthcare accessible and impactful for everyone.
