Mammootty’s recently released investigative comedy film ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ is slowly losing its grip at the box office.

According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ collected Rs 14.5 crore worldwide in 7 days and the India net collections for the movie amounted to Rs 7.62 crore. The India gross collections are Rs 7.45 crore and the overseas collections stand at a decent Rs 7.05 crore.

Dominic And The Ladies Purse | Song - Ee Rathri (Lyrical)

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s directorial collected Rs 7.62 crore in the Malayalam box office in 7 days. The real trouble can be seen when we take a look at the day-wise KBO collections. According to the early estimates by the website, ‘Dominic and the ladies purse’ only managed to make a high of Rs 35 lakhs on day 7 which is even lower than its collections on day 6 which stood at 40 lakhs.
The movie collected Rs 1.75 crore on its opening day and then it saw a gradual dip as it collected Rs 1.2 crore, Rs 1.65 crore, Rs 1.8 crore, Rs 47 lakh, Rs 40 lakhs, and Rs 35 lakh on the following days. A slow momentum is visible in the day-wise collections which is not good for ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ in the long run.
ETimes exclusive review of the movie reads, “The film is layered and so are the characters. Gokul Suresh matches Dominic's vibe and so does Viji Venkatesh. They are like two satellites around the star. Of course, the star performer after Mammootty is Sushmitha Bhatt. She is spectacular. There are so many characters going in and out but the story warrants it. The exciting climax makes up for any lethargy one may feel at any point in the film. That said, there are also plot points like the identity of an individual -who do they identify as ? There is no judgement which is fair and hopefully, it is looked at through the same lens by the larger public rather than being used as a tool to discriminate.”
