Dolly Parton Surprises Matlock Star After She Wins Breakout Award & It's Delightful

Matlock star Skye P. Marshall was surprised by country music superstar Dolly Parton, during an interview at Newport Beach TV Fest. A gender-flipped remake of the classic 1980s legal drama, Matlock follows Kathy Bates in the role of Madeline "Matty" Matlock, who joins a prestigious law firm to investigate the death of her daughter.

The show was a success on CBS, and in October 2024, Matlock season 2 was renewed. Marshall plays Olympia Lawrence, a junior partner at Jacobson Moore law firm who is Matty's boss, and who has an initially frosty relationship with her. Marshall has received acclaim for her performance, and is looking forward to starring alongside some big names next season.
