People often look for home remedies to treat dengue fever at home. Goat milk is one such option that people drink to increase platelets. Check out if it is a myth or a fact!

Dengue is caused by mosquito bites and shows symptoms like high fever, body aches and low platelets. Selenium deficiency can make you more susceptible to dengue fever.

As per a study in ResearchGate, Goat milk is the richest source of Selenium (Se) in comparison to cow and sheep milk. A deficiency of Selenium is one of the main complications of dengue fever.

There is no proper evidence that drinking goat milk can cure dengue, but it can increase your platelets and boost your immunity against infections.

Raw goat's milk may contain bacteria that can cause infections. There is a risk of a disease called brucellosis, which can be even more serious.

Experts advise not to consider only drinking goat milk as the treatment for dengue fever. If you want to drink, boil it first.

Heat pasteurised goat milk at a lukewarm temperature. Drink this on an empty stomach or at night before sleeping.

In dengue, your body needs more water, fruits, coconut water and eat a balanced diet. These methods are considered more safe and effective.
