OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

The Director of Development, Duke Health reports to the Senior Executive Director of Development, Duke Health and develops fundraising programs and strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward grateful patients, and friends of Duke Health Medicine, Surgery and Clinical Care areas, including the Department of Medicine and areas involved with solid organ transplantation for significant gifts to fund projects and priorities.

This individual will be a fundraiser, builder, strategist and creative and collaborative problem solver. They will work to build and enhance collaborative relationships with individuals across assigned areas and Duke Health Development and Alumni Affairs with a goal to advance fundraising.

Duke Health Development & Alumni Affairs is a hybrid workplace. All team members must live within the local area, have access to, and maintain a secure home office environment with high-speed internet service. The ability to work collaboratively with others using a variety of technologies and tools is a must.  At the discretion of the manager, some positions will be required to work in our office located in Durham, NC for a specified number of days per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Anticipated Pay Range

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 76,628.00 to USD $153,254.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Education

Work requires communications, analytical, and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires five (5) years of progressive fund raising experience in a related organization with a proven track record in major gifts.

Campaign experience is desirable.
