Dipika Kakar Liver Tumour Post-Surgery Update

Television power couple Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar have faced a challenging period following Dipika Kakar's diagnosis with a 'tennis ball-sized' liver tumour in May. Shoaib Ibrahim initially shared this difficult news with their loyal fanbase via his YouTube channel on May 15, explaining that the tumour was discovered after Kakar experienced persistent stomach pain.
After navigating a crucial month, Ibrahim provided another update, revealing critical details about Kakar's health journey. He confirmed that following surgery, no cancer cells remain in her body. However, due to the aggressive nature of the tumour, which was classified as "grade three and poorly differentiated," there is a potential for recurrence. Doctors have prescribed medication, and while Kakar is currently cancer-free, any future detection of cancer cells would necessitate an increase in medication dosage.
Looking ahead, Dipika Kakar is expected to embark on a new phase of treatment starting next week. This treatment is projected to be long-term, potentially lasting anywhere from one to two years, as stated by Ibrahim.
Previously, Dipika Kakar herself shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, expressing profound gratitude after 11 days in the hospital. She stated, "11 Days of being here and now home Free from the tumour but this is one part of the treatment done remaining will follow in the coming time and mujhe yakeen hai I will sail through that too as I said before." Kakar credited the amazing people around her for making the difficult period smoother and acknowledged the suffering she endured, which was handled with immense warmth by the staff at Kokilaben Hospital. She specifically thanked Dr. Somnath Chatopadhyay and his team, including Dr. Kanchan, Dr. Neha, Dr. Sanket, Dr. Manek, and Dr. Kavita, praising them as exceptional doctors and human beings. She also extended her gratitude to Dr. Sharmeela (anaesthetist), Dr. Bushra (ICU Doctor), and numerous nurses and female helping staff, including Akshara, Nupur, Pragati, Shasheeka, Anupama, Ashna, and Jijin, for their love and care, which aided her recovery. Kakar emphasized that her biggest strength has been the overwhelming love, prayers, and blessings from her fans, humbly requesting continued prayers for the smooth progression of her future treatment and the strength to endure it.
