Development-friendly policies key to success in Edo- Gov Okpebholo

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State says that his decision to adopt development-friendly policies has been a major factor in the recent success stories that the state is experiencing.

Represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Emmanuel Okoebor, during the Pentecost Week celebration themed “The Rebirth of a New Edo,” held at the Government House Chapel, Okpebholo emphasized that only people-oriented policies helped his quest to ensure citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy.

The Governor hinted that the introduction of the SHINE project in the state will focus on Security with the provision of modern equipment to fight against crime and support law enforcement agencies across the state.

He added that Healthcare, Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Agriculture, and Education have witnessed massive advancement in the state.

He further revealed that Edo State is working towards becoming the food basket of Nigeria, with the procurement and distribution of 13 tractors to enhance agricultural activities and strengthen food security across Edo State.

“The governor is currently constructing 170 kilometres of roads across the three Senatorial Districts of Edo State. He is building the state’s first flyover, and the cabinet has approved the construction of a second one,” Okoebor said.
