Fans have been excited to witness what the new film Deva starring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde hold for them and going by the response, it seems that they are quite happy to see the actor play a quintessentially massy action hero in this cop drama. However, they were curious to know more about Hegde’s character. Although there were subtle hints about the same, audiences were keen on understanding it a little more and it seems that their requests were answered by the actress herself during the trailer launch.

Along with Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde who was also a part of the trailer launch was excited about sharing details on her character Diya as her first look poster was unveiled on Friday, by the actress, ahead of the event. “Diya is like the perfect 'takkar' to Dev's character. You guys have seen the Alpha male many times. But I think it is time to see the Alpha female because she is not afraid to speak her mind, not afraid to see what's in her mind”.
She went on to make a reference to the scene from the trailer and added, “The article where he is being questioned about 'Police and mafia' is written by Diya, the journalist who is investigating this. So I feel like she is not afraid to say what she wants to, which represents the girls today. So, I think in the trailer you have seen the softer side of Diya which is also a part of her”.
The actress revealed how she has a new-found respect for the job of reporters, especially crime journalists. “I have explored this newfound respect for journalists. Because what you guys do is really hard, especially investigative journalism. You need a lot of guts, you need a lot of courage to do the job you guys are doing", she added.
Directed by Rosshan Andrews, the film is a cop-action drama. Produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, the film is slated to release on January 31, 2025.
