'Deadly' tornado hits University of Alabama as NWS issues urgent warning | Irish Star
A critical situation unfolded over the University of Alabama, prompting the Emergency Alert System (EAS) national warning to be activated by the NWS:.
"EAS activation has been requested after Particularly Dangerous Situation was declared for tornado over University of Alabama in Huntsville, AL."

An emergency bulletin was broadcasted for western Madison County and eastern Limestone County in Alabama, urging immediate shelter as a confirmed tornado neared Madison and Huntsville, with a significant twister reported on the ground in Huntsville.
Passengers found themselves taking cover on a stationary train due to the proximity of the tornado near Huntsville. Additionally, there have been reports of a tornado touching down south of Tanner.
The tornado warning is active until 6:45pm CDT, with the storm anticipated to hit:.
"Madison and Huntsville by 6:30pm," the report indicated.

"University of Alabama in Huntsville and Redstone Arsenal by 6:35pm, and.
"Alabama A and M University by 6:45pm."
The trajectory of the dangerous storm also includes Belle Mina, French Mill, Mooresville, Capshaw, Ryland, Hampton Cove, Ripley, Brownsboro, and Farley.
Local officials are calling for immediate protective measures.
"To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW!" urged the National Weather Service.
They advise seeking shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and staying away from windows. For those in mobile homes, vehicles, or outdoors, the recommendation is to find the nearest substantial shelter to guard against flying debris.
