DC police officers involved in two shootings blocks apart in Northwest
A person has been shot in what D.C. police are calling an officer-involved shooting near the Columbia Heights and Petworth neighborhoods.
The shooting happened in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue Northwest. Police said at 6:52 p.m. on Tuesday a “suspect” had been shot, but did not provide any other details about what happened.
A couple hours earlier, just blocks away, police responded to another officer-involved shooting near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Quebec Place in Northwest.
No one was struck by gunfire during that incident, police said. It’s unclear if the two shootings are related.
Below is a map of the approximate location of the two shootings.
