Bhopal: We've reached the middle of May now but summer has been unusual and the city has seemingly been fortunate so far as it has not been experiencing extreme hot weather for which the month is infamous for.
Strong winds and thunder activity due to the impact of weather systems have saved the city to a certain extent. A brief spell of scattered showers was witnessed in the city on Wednesday too. But the respite was not expected to continue for long. The day temperature in Bhopal on Wednesday was recorded at 37.8 degrees celsius, three degrees less than normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 26.2 degrees celsius, which was at the normal mark. Day temperature in Khajuraho was 43.6 degrees celsius.In the forecast for Bhopal on Thursday the meteorological dept stated there would be partly cloudy sky with chances of thunder development, light rain in evening and night hours. Dry weather would prevail over remaining dists in the state. In the weather outlook the meteorological dept stated gradual increase in maximum temperature by 2 degrees to 3 degree over the north parts of the state.The meteorological dept stated the western disturbance as a trough aloft in middle and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along longitude 73° east to the north of latitude 32° north persists. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Gujarat state between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level.
