Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has urged local government chairmen in the state to maintain close synergy with their legislative arms and key stakeholders to enhance effective service delivery

Governor Otu who gave the charge on Monday in his office in Calabar, noted that any disunity between the legislative and executive arms could jeopardize effective governance and service delivery.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to a people-first, and service-oriented leadership, tasking leaders at all levels to embrace team work.

Otu said “We will continue to defend the fidelity of the people-first mantra. Our primary concern is the quality of service to our people. The only card to play is the people’s card.”

“Work with the elders, the youths, and all stakeholders. We are pleased with the efforts of many LG chairmen across the state, but we will not hesitate to confront issues when necessary”, he remarked.

“No one, not under my watch, will shortchange Cross River State and go scot-free”, governor Otu stated.

In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. OwanEnoh, noted that all LG Chairmen should utilize the opportunity of their stewardship and attract unprecedented results and development to the state.
