However, EeZee Tee has maintained his innocence, with his legal team expressing confidence in a favourable outcome.

The case involving gospel musician, Mercy Chinwo and her former gospel music executive, Ezekiel Onyedikachi, known as EeZee Tee, has been adjourned to May.

The case, which has attracted public attention, revolves around financial and contractual disputes.

However, EeZee Tee has maintained his innocence, with his legal team expressing confidence in a favourable outcome.

The High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, postponed his arraignment in the case filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on behalf of Mercy Chinwo.

During Thursday’s session, presiding judge Justice Alexander Owoeye cited administrative procedures as the reason for the delay, adjourning the case until May 14, 2025.

Senior advocates Chikaosolu Ojukwu and Dr. Monday Ubani represented Onyedikachi, while Bilikisu Buhari appeared for the EFCC.

EeZee Tee was present in court as the proceedings unfolded.

Chinwo previously clarified that her legal action was not about reclaiming her music catalog. Instead, she stated that she sought transparency.

She insisted that she wanted the first three pages and the execution page of her 2017 contract — allegedly altered by EeZee Tee — made public.

She also revealed that in 2019, EeZee Tee proposed extending her five-year contract to twelve years, a proposal she declined due to her career plans.

According to Chinwo, this led to her being bullied and isolated by EeZee Tee.

EeZee Tee has denied any wrongdoing.

In a statement issued by his legal representatives, Maxwell Opara & Associates, he rejected allegations of forgery and financial mismanagement, calling them misleading and a misrepresentation of the facts of his contractual relationship with Chinwo.

"Mercy Chinwo diverted booking revenues into her personal account while still under contract with EeZee Concepts," his legal team stated, emphasising that such actions violated the terms of their agreement.

Meanwhile, Mercy Chinwo has denied all the allegations.
