Ahead of the February 21, 2026, chairmanship/councillorship elections in the FCT, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has inaugurated its Abaji Area Council chapter as well as council ward executives.
The inauguration, which was held at the party’s secretariat, has Alhassan Suleiman as YPP chapter chairman; Sunday Tukura, deputy chairman; Yunusa Mairiga, Secretary; Isah Yimaba, Assistant Secretary; Yunusa Daudu, treasurer; Yahaya Abagana, financial secretary; Mohammed Ndaba, organising secretary; and Chinedu Omeke, publicity secretary, alongside 14 others.
Speaking during the inauguration, the FCT chairman of the YPP, Abraham Simeon Adedotun, urged the new executive members to work as a team for the party’s victory at the polls.
Responding, the Abaji chapter chairman of the YPP, Alhassan Suleiman, who spoke on behalf of other executives, expressed confidence that the party, with structures across the 10 wards of the council, would dislodge the ruling APC in the election.
Also speaking, the YPP chairmanship candidate in Abaji, Muhammad Angulu Loko, appreciated the state executive of the party for giving him the platform to contest in the forthcoming election in the council.
