James Gunn, David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult announce that the Superman movie will get a China release.
The film will be released in China on July 11th, just like in the U.S., and per WB, the film will also be opening internationally in other locations beginning July 9th.
To go with the announcement, new spots have been released, and the David Corenset poster has been updated in Chinese. Watch the announcement and spots below.

While the Chinese box office isn’t what it used to be (Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel from back in 2013 brought in $63.44M from China, and 2016’s Batman vs Superman $95.7M), there’s no doubt that a China release can be beneficial to the bottom line.
This year, the top U.S. movies released in China include Minecraft ($28.9M), Thunderbolts ($15.9M), Captain America: Brave New World ($14.3M), and the recently released Lilo &Stitch ($9.4M). The Batman also managed $25.3M in 2022. There’s no doubt the Chinese are fans of superhero movies.
