Real Madrid move top of LaLiga after victory over UD Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu. Our team came back from Fábio Silva's opening goal with a brace from Mbappé and another goal from Brahim to go into the halftime 3-1 ahead. Rodrygo rounded off the victory by making it  4-1 in a second half which saw Alaba return from injury after an absence of 399 days. The margin of victory could have been greater had Ancelotti's side not had three goals disallowed.

The Canary Islander took the lead after 26 seconds with Fábio Silva finishing Sandro's cross. The home side's reply was not long in coming (3') following lovely combination play between MbappéBellingham and Rodrygo. The Brazilian slipped past his defender with a nice cutback on the touchline and crossed to Brahim at the far post, missing the target by inches. Five minutes later Mbappé came close with a shot that struck the post after an initial save by Cillessen. So much insistence was finally rewarded when the Frenchman made it 1-1 in the 18th minute by converting a penalty after Sandro brought down Rodrygo.

Mbappé's brace
After the equaliser came, around the half-hour mark  Madrid went on the rampage led by an unstoppable Mbappé and the game was thrown wide open. In the 33’ minute, he drove from midfield to the edge of the box and unleashed a shot that was stopped by the visiting goalkeeper. Lucas V. picked the ball up in the box and set up Brahim to make it 2-1 with a left-footed finish. Shortly after, Mbappé sealed his brace with his 18th goal this season. He received a good pass from Rodrygo in the heart of the area and first-time, with the inside of his right foot, dispatched the ball into the left corner of the Las Palmas goal (3-1). He thought he had completed his hat-trick before the break, but Quintero González was alerted by the VAR to review the goal on the monitor and chalked off the goal due to the Frenchman’s offside position.

Ancelotti’s boys kept up the tempo after the restart. Ceballos played a pass through to Bellingham who shook off Cillessen with a neat piece of skill before striking his effort into the side netting (49’). The Whites made it 4-1 soon after. Mbappé and Fran García linked up well and the full-back's low cross was turned in by Rodrygo with his right foot. In the 63rd minute, the VAR alerted the referee over Benito’s high challenge in the waist of Lucas V. After reviewing the incident on the monitor, Quintero González rectified the yellow card and gave the Las Palmas player his marching orders.

Alaba makes his return
The Madridistas extended the lead again in the 73rd minute through Valverde following a free-kick from Rodrygo. But the goal was chalked off for offside against Rüdiger. The German was replaced in the 75th minute by Alaba, who received a standing ovation from the Bernabéu after returning from injury after 399 days on the sidelines. Three minutes later, Bellingham had another chance, when he got on the end of a cross delivered by Mbappé with the outside of his boot but he missed the target. In the 85th minute, Valverde fired in a long-range right-footed shot into the top right-hand corner of the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside against Lucas V. The 4-1 scoreline remained unchanged, and Real Madrid secured their 14th win in the league to return to the top of the table.
