Chinese enterprises will be crucial to 24-Hour Economy policy - Julius Debrah
Julius Debrah has reiterated that President Mahama is keen on the 24-Hour Economy policy
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to building an investor-driven economy through the 24-hour economy initiative.
Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the 2025 Ghana–China Business Summit in Accra, Debrah stated that the government aims to position Africa as an industrial hub, with active Chinese participation.
“Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy is not a slogan; it’s a strategy. We are building Africa’s next industrial and logistics hub, with Chinese partnerships playing a vital role,” he emphasised.
He also highlighted the directives given by President Mahama to ensure that the 24-Hour Economy programme reaches its full potential.
“With the 24-Hour Economy agenda in full motion, Ghana is set to become Africa’s industrial and logistics hub. The President has tasked us with creating a dependable, investor-friendly environment that secures returns and drives inclusive growth. Chinese enterprises are strategic to this vision,” he added.
The 2025 Ghana–China Business Summit concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and partnership.
Held under the theme “Enhancing Security and Infrastructure for Investment: Opportunities for Ghana–China Collaboration,” the summit brought together Chinese state-owned enterprises, government leaders, captains of industry, and policymakers to deepen strategic cooperation.
The event served as a pivotal platform to promote joint ventures, infrastructure financing, technology transfer, and market expansion, with Ghana positioned as the gateway to West Africa and an emerging node in global supply chains.
The summit also marks a key milestone in “The Big Push”, a national development agenda aimed at attracting targeted investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, and innovation.
