Hefei Kuangfeng (NBL) signed 31-year-old American 193cm shooting guard Gerry Blakes (college: Arizona State, agency: BIG). He last played at BC Siauliai in Lithuanian LKL league. In 34 games, he averaged 17.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.8apg, and 1.3spg last season. He was voted League Player of the Week.
Blakes is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Cyprus (Paralimni), France (Limoges CSP Elite, Cholet Basket and SIG Strasbourg), Germany (Bamberg and EWE Baskets), Italy (Cantu, Pistoia and Scafati), Poland (MKS), Sweden (Norrkoping) and The Basketball Tournament (Forks Up).
Blakes has won many awards, including the Alpe Adria Cup in 2023. He was selected to the Eurobasket.com Swedish Basketligan All-Imports Team in 2018.
He graduated from Arizona State in 2016 and it'll be his tenth season in pro basketball.
