China Commemorates 80th Anniversary of Victory Against Japan
China's State Council Information Office has unveiled an emblem to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The emblem prominently features a yellow number "80" at its center, incorporating symbolic elements such as the Great Wall, olive branches, brilliance, and the years "1945-2025."
The Great Wall represents the spirit of the Chinese people's unity and courage in fighting, underscoring the critical role of national spirit, with patriotism at its core, in securing victory against Japanese aggression. The olive branches symbolize the peace won by the Chinese people after a difficult war and their unity with other nations to cherish and protect this peace.
A "gate of victory," depicted through brilliance, signifies the triumph of justice over evil, light over darkness, and progress over reaction in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. This emblem signifies the bright prospects for national rejuvenation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
The emblem is authorized for use in decorations for events commemorating the 80th anniversary. It can also be used in the creation of materials for publicity, educational initiatives, and relevant foreign affairs events, as stated by the office.
The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, which spanned from 1931 to 1945, was the earliest and longest conflict of its kind. Serving as the primary battleground in the East of the World Anti-Fascist War, China played a crucial role in resisting Japanese militarism, making a significant contribution to the overall victory of the World Anti-Fascist War.
