The 2025 Directors Guild of America Awards brought plenty of fashion moments. While Demi Moore, Ali Wong, Elle Fanning, Colman Domingo, and Maude Apatow may have grabbed early attention, there were plenty of other attendees who deserve a moment in the spotlight.

KseniaBB perfectly summed it up in the comments: “Mikey is demure, demure. I am coming to appreciate her style by meeting her where she is.” And you know what? Same. A month ago, I would have been questioning why she opted for this ultra-simple white shirt and black maxi skirt from collection. But now? I get it. The minimalism, the subtle elegance, and the pop of colour—it’s all very Mikey. It took me a minute, but I’m fully on board.

stepped out in a aubergine dress, but something got lost in translation. The look book version featured an intriguing layered effect, but on Ayo, it was tailored into a drop-waist dress that lost much of its original charm.
Better grooming and sharper tailoring might have elevated this, but this could be a case of commercial (Ayo’s version) vs. original (look book), and the original wins hands down.

fun and playful approach to the red carpet continues with this Nina Ricci strapless chiffon mini dress from the Spring 2025 collection. I love how the polka dots add a touch of whimsy.
