CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has activated its Winter Readiness Plan to prepare for anticipated adverse weather conditions.

While some Western Cape communities recently experienced heavy downpours, the South African Weather Service has since withdrawn its warning for disruptive rainfall in the metro for Sunday.

Attention is now turning to the Eastern Cape, where forecasts predict significant heavy rain and snowfall beginning tomorrow.
