Capcom Fighting Collection 2 appears to be leaving in most of Capcom vs. SNK 2's glitches intact... but not all of them
Luckily, one of the best modern CvS2 players in Silentscope recently got to try out the test build of the game running on the compilation, and he went in there with a laundry list of bugs to test out.
Out of the 18 main glitches / options that were tested, only around 3 of them were found to be missing / unavailable — at least from that build of the collection.
Unsurprisingly, Silentscope quickly found that roll cancels are still very much included on this new port, which makes sense since classic players would have probably rioted if it was removed.
One of the more contentious ones, however, the player 2 corner cross-up bug was still present as well.
Pretty much anything related to combos and Supers were left in, but the developers seem to be targeting glitches that can bring the action to a screeching halt or present other problems.
Throw tech reversals eating Supers and causing other funky situations like soft-locks appear to be removed, which players probably won't complain much about unless they wanted something funny to show their friends.
Kim's air Super colliding with Cammy's Spiral Arrow no longer appears to freeze her in the air that led to a pseudo-soft-lock situation too in older versions of CvS2.
So it seems that Capcom is continuing their trend of keeping their fighting game collections as close to arcade perfect as they can while cleaning up the issues that can actually break / lock the game.
This isn't a bug, but Silentscope was also able to note that you are able to map roll to a single button, which could have an impact on the meta moving forward for CvS2 and a bit wild to say for a game that's over 20 years old now.
It's also important to keep in mind that these are all tested on a pre-release build of the Capcom Fighting Collection 2, which is still in development and could change by the time of release.
The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is set to launch on May 16 for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC.
