Cambodian Senate President Meets Outgoing Ambassador of Timor-Leste - Myanmar Newswire

Phnom penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, on July 1 held talks with H.E. Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes, outgoing Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Cambodia, at the Senate Palace.


According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Senate, communicated that during the farewell meeting, H.E. Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes reminisced about his diplomatic mission in Cambodia. He expressed gratitude to Cambodia for its support for Timor-Leste’s bid to become a full member of ASEAN at the upcoming ASEAN Summit in October.


Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted his recent visit to Timor-Leste, noting a warm reception from the country’s people and leaders. Additionally, he provided an update to H.E. Ermenegildo Kupa Lopes on the ongoing border tension between Cambodia and Thailand, stressing the Royal Government of Cambodia’s commitment to seeking a peaceful resolution in accordance with international laws.
