CHAN 2025 Prize Money
The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has revealed a significant boost in the prize money for the 2025 Total African Nations Championship (CHAN), raising it to $3.5 million.
This adjustment represents a 32% increase compared to the previous edition held in Algeria.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “We are thrilled about the Total Energies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2024 and have substantially raised the winner’s prize to USD 3.5 million, reflecting a 75% increase.”
It has been revealed that Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will all host the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled to commence on August 2, 2025 and end on August 30, 2025.
This would be the first time since 2016 that East Africa will be hosting the prestigious tournament.
Initially scheduled for September 2024, the event experienced two delays, first shifting to February 2025 and now to August, due to ongoing infrastructure development challenges in the host countries: Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
