CAF appoints Amaju Pinnick as Special Adviser to president Motsepe - Blueprint Newspapers Limited
Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has been appointed as Special Adviser to the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe.
The appointment, which was approved by CAF’s Executive Committee on Saturday, marks a significant return to continental football administration for the 54-year-old.
With his new role, Pinnick will now participate in CAF’s Executive Committee meetings, offering strategic counsel to the CAF president on key matters affecting African football.
Pinnick, who recently lost his seat on the FIFA Council, remains a prominent figure in football governance. He was the third Nigerian to serve on FIFA’s highest decision-making body after Oyo Orok Oyo and Amos Adamu.
His appointment is widely seen as a recognition of his long-standing contributions to the growth and development of football across the continent.
