YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Bystanders said they had to wake a sleeping tractor-trailer driver as the vehicle ignited into flames in York County on Thursday morning.

According to Union Fire Company #1 on Facebook, crews responded to a reported vehicle fire at 1025 Locust Point Road in East Manchester Township at 1:25 a.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the front of a tractor-trailer engulfed in flames.

Firefighters say the fire started in the engine compartment of the vehicle. Bystanders told firefighters that they had to wake the driver who was asleep in the cab of the truck when the fire started.

The fire extended into the trailer before crews were able to bring it under control. No injuries were reported.
