Brad Pitt Downplays Angelina Jolie Divorce Impact

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has recently opened up about his highly publicized divorce from Angelina Jolie, following the finalization of their settlement in December 2024 after a protracted eight-year legal battle. In a candid interview, Pitt shared his thoughts on the intense public scrutiny surrounding his personal life and the conclusion of his marriage.
Speaking in a recent cover story for GQ, Pitt addressed the "annoyance" of his personal life consistently being in the news for three decades. He stated, "It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do." Despite the public focus, Pitt revealed that he feels his life is now quite settled, finding comfort and safety from friends, family, and a strong sense of self. When asked if he felt a sense of relief after the divorce settlement, Pitt downplayed its significance, remarking, "No, I don't think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, once famously known as "Brangelina," first connected on the set of their film "Mr & Mrs Smith" in 2005. They married in 2014 at their French estate, Château Miraval. However, their union was short-lived, with Jolie filing for divorce in September 2016 after two years of marriage, though they had been partners for over a decade. The divorce proceedings were lengthy, concluding more than eight years later.
The couple shares six children: Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16). Reports indicate that Pitt's relationship with his children has remained strained following the separation, with some of them reportedly choosing to drop "Pitt" from their surnames. Following the finalization of the divorce, Angelina Jolie's legal team released a statement highlighting the toll the prolonged process had taken. "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family," the statement read, adding, "Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over." At the time of the settlement, Pitt’s representatives declined to comment.
Professionally, Brad Pitt is preparing for the release of his upcoming film, "F1 – The Movie." Directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for "Top Gun: Maverick," the movie is set to premiere in theatres and IMAX on June 27. It will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
