RIO DE JANEIRO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Botafogo has reached a deal with Benfica to sign striker Arthur Cabral, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Sunday.

The 27-year-old agreed to personal terms of a contract that runs until December 2028 after Botafogo reportedly accepted to pay a transfer fee of 15 million euros.

Cabral made 77 appearances for Benfica across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing five assists, after his 2023 arrival from Fiorentina.

The Brazilian forward will join Botafogo's squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which begins in the United States on June 14.

Botafogo has been drawn in Group B alongside Seattle Sounders, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid. ■
