Boban Marjanovic takes a new career step

a Netflix sports comedy film releasing on July 25th. 

The acting world, however, isn’t new to Marjanovic.

He previously featured in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and Hustle with Adam Sandler and NBA star Anthony Edwards.

He reunites with Sandler in Happy Gilmore 2, joining a long list of cameos that includes Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce, Eminem, and Kid Cudi.

Marjanovic has a successful and well-respected basketball resume.

Before the NBA, the Serbian played professionally in the EuroLeague for clubs Crvena Zvezda, Zalgiris, and CSKA. 

Drafted in 2015 by the Spurs, he quickly became a fan favourite.

In his 11 years in the NBA, he played for the San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Houston Rockets.

He wrapped up his NBA career in 2024 in Houston. 

Since then, the veteran briefly returned to the EuroLeague to play for Fenerbahce Beko, before parting from them mid-season. 

He then signed with the Zhejiang Lions of China’s CBA in January.

In his most recent season – he averaged 4.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.6 steals, 0.4 assists, and 0.2 blocks over 5 games.

Internationally, he was also a regular for Serbia’s national team, where they won silver at EuroBasket 2017.

While fan favourite Boban Marjanovic has not confirmed whether he will continue his professional basketball career, there is no doubt his presence, on or off the court – will remain as loved as ever.
