Black Sherif Concert Halted After Fans Pelt Artist With Water

Ghanaian musician Black Sherif recently garnered significant online attention after a video surfaced showing him being pelted with water during a performance. The incident occurred at the Takoradi Mall Event Center on June 21, 2025. Fans reportedly began throwing bottles of water at the artist due to his perceived late arrival on stage.
According to initial reports, the "Soma Obi" hitmaker was scheduled to commence his performance at 7 PM but did not appear until 5 AM the following morning. As Black Sherif was being drenched, he was captured in the viral footage encouraging the frustrated audience to also direct their actions towards the event promoters, stating, "Throw more, throw more... As you are throwing the bottles at me, do the same to the promoters. Throw more water."
However, GhanaWeb's sources presented a conflicting account, indicating that Black Sherif had arrived at the venue punctually at 7 PM, but was only called upon to perform at the much later time of 5 AM. Other videos from the event corroborated the audience's widespread disappointment regarding the significant delay in the performance.
This development has sparked diverse reactions across social media platforms. While some netizens have criticized Black Sherif for his late appearance on stage, others have strongly condemned the audience's behavior, characterizing it as disrespectful and unwarranted.
