BEYANI MUST GIVE US CORRECT CENSUS FIGURES … For discrediting ZAMSTAT’s – Sichinga

Former Commerce minister Bob Sichinga says the chairman of the Civil Service Commission Dr Choolwe Beyani’s role in Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS) is unclear, and his comments on the agency’s report are unfounded and misleading.
Yesterday, Dr Beyani declared the 2022 ZAMSTATS census report “illegal, null, and void” due to population discrepancies in 15 wards, before a crowd of over 50 delegates at the presentation of the ZAMSTATS report in Lusaka.
Reacting to the incident in an interview yesterday, Sichinga questioned Dr Beyani’s authority to comment on ZAMSTATS’ reports, saying his role was limited to reviewing appointments and ensuring compliance with the Civil Service Law.
He wondered on what basis he questioned the ZAMSTATS figures as if he knew of the other figures.
