Beautiful Photos of the 1967 Morris Mini Traveller

Published 9 hours ago1 minute read

Combining practicality with sporting flair, the 1967 Morris Mini Traveller with Downton Cooper ‘S’ specification represents a fascinating fusion of Mini variants. The standard Traveller appeared approximately 12 months after the Mini saloon’s debut, built on the Minivan’s long-wheelbase floor pan with decorative wooden trim elements that echoed the popular Morris Minor Traveller.

While regular Travellers maintained more modest mechanical specifications throughout their production run, this particular example has been transformed with a genuine MkIII Cooper ‘S’ 1,275cc engine, modified by the renowned BMC tuning specialists at Downton Engineering.

The comprehensive rebuild by ex-Downton engineer Steve Harris upgraded the powerplant to Downton’s Stage 5 specification while maintaining the 1¼” SU carburetors. This remarkable performance package enables exceptional flexibility and a top speed approaching 100 mph—extraordinary capabilities for what appears externally to be a practical family vehicle.

Below is a set of beautiful photos of the 1967 Morris Mini Traveller.
