Beaches Resorts Expands Due to Travel Demand

Beaches Resorts is expanding across the Caribbean, redefining all-inclusive family vacations with smart design, inclusive programming, and ease for all ages, driven by the rise in multigenerational travel. Skift Research indicates that 31% of travelers are interested in multigenerational travel, including parents, in-laws, and children. IPX1031’s Travel Outlook Survey reveals that 57% of Americans plan to take longer trips in 2025, highlighting a shift toward immersive vacations focused on quality time together. Premium all-inclusive brands are thriving as families seek connection, comfort, and convenience amid rising costs and economic uncertainty. Expedia Group data shows that searches on Hotels.com using the “all-inclusive” filter have jumped 60% year over year.

Beaches Resorts, the family-friendly arm of Sandals Resorts International, is investing nearly $1 billion in a Caribbean expansion to meet this demand. Executive Chairman Adam Stewart emphasizes that growth is about creating spaces where families can unwind and reconnect. Founded in 1997, Beaches Resorts aims to translate Sandals’ all-inclusive ease into a family-friendly experience, focusing on purpose-built design for different life stages. Stewart notes that the company's success lies in ensuring that everything serves someone, be it a toddler, a teen, or a grandparent, allowing families to feel free, relaxed, and safe.

Beaches Resorts welcomes toddlers under two in their kids’ camps, with no potty training required and no added fees, a rare offering supported by staff certified by the International Nanny Association. The resorts are also autism-certified through the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), offering sensory-friendly accommodations, events, and activities. Kids' camps are staffed by counselors trained in autism sensitivity and feature programming developed with Sesame Workshop, including interactive experiences with Julia, a Sesame Street character with autism. Beaches Resorts are intentionally built on flat terrain to ensure easy access for elderly guests, with expansive beachfront access, wide paths, and thoughtful separation between quiet and high-energy zones, ensuring peace of mind for families.

With inclusivity and intentional design, Beaches Resorts is scaling its vision across the Caribbean with a nearly $1 billion expansion plan that introduces five major developments: Beaches Barbados, a 600-room property; Beaches Exuma in The Bahamas, with multi-bedroom villas; Beaches Runaway Bay in Jamaica, designed for extended families; and the Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos, adding 101 new suites and the brand’s first-ever food hall. Planning is underway at Beaches Negril to add 100 new family suites and beachfront villas, following the debut of the Firesky Reserve Villas and Eventide Penthouse Collection, which offer expansive layouts, private plunge pools, and rooftop terraces.

Beaches reinforces its commitment to the Caribbean through environmental stewardship, community investment, and educational support. The Sandals Foundation has invested $115 million in programs impacting 1.7 million people, from planting coral and reforesting coastlines to supporting farmers, fishers, and local artisans. Beaches expansion reflects the Stewart family’s personal connection to the Caribbean, aimed at elevating the region’s hospitality and maintaining its authentic Caribbean essence. Beaches Resorts focuses on quality over speed, developing properties on land held for decades and investing in team training and education.

Looking ahead to the 2025 summer season, Stewart is optimistic about the Caribbean's appeal, citing its proximity and reliability as powerful draws for families seeking a break. Beaches Resorts aims to provide an experience that leaves families feeling more connected, ensuring kids have fun and adults relax, fostering repeat visits.
