Bandits release victim after spending 7 months in captivity

Bandits have released Yakubu Dada,a resident of Niger State after spending seven months in captivity.

Mr Dada was abducted together with his youngest wife, Lami, along Kontagora Road in Niger State on October 31, 2024.

According to a Daily Trust report, Mr Dada was reportedly freed on Monday, , after his family paid a total of N30 million ransom.

The kidnappers had initially collected N10 million in November 2024 but later demanded an additional N20 million and four Bajaj motorcycles, threatening to kill him if their demands were not met.

Tragically, in early May, the bandits killed his wife, Lami, to pressure the family to pay the requested ransom.

Confirming the release to the newspaper, his eldest wife, Maimuna, said Mr Dada was released and abandoned by the kidnappers near Kotonkoro in Mariga LGA after receiving the additional N20 million.
