On Tuesday, May 21, the award-winning singer took to social media to share that he was unwell and would be taking a break from the spotlight to recover.

Bahati, who recently caused a buzz online after tricking fans into believing he had shaved off his dreadlocks of eleven years, posted a photo of himself lying on a hospital bed.

In the image, the Mama hitmaker was seen in civilian clothes, an Arsenal jersey and jeans, with his hand covering his face, suggesting he was in discomfort.

His attire and the lack of hospital regalia sparked speculation that he may not have been formally admitted but was receiving treatment.

The father of five accompanied the photo with a sombre caption reflecting on his health scare.

"For 33 Years I have never laid in a hospital bed but this evening I have found myself in one. Taking a social media break as I pray for a quick recovery," he wrote.

However, the singer did not disclose what he was ailing from.

Bahati was concerned about his youngest daughter, Malaika Bahati, and asked Kenyans to pray for her health.

The musician shared a video while taking Malaika to the hospital, admitting she was not feeling well.

In the video, Bahati gently held his daughter, who was crying after receiving an injection.

The next day, Malaika was rushed back to the hospital, where doctors advised that she be admitted for further care.
