The lawmaker was admitted to the roll of advocates on Friday, May 23, becoming a fully fledged Advocate of the High Court.
Celebrating his new milestone, Babu dedicated it to serving the ordinary Kenyans, saying he did not achieve it for self-serving purposes.
He said he would use his new status to fight for justice and serve the lowly in society.
Babu would walk the talk house after making that declaration.
He went around Nairobi visiting prisons in which he secured the release of petty offenders by paying their fines.
The lawmaker secured the release of at least 200 inmates in various prisons.
He said it was in his place as a leader to fight for the less privileged.
"As a member of Parliament and as an advocate of the High Court, it is my responsibility to fight for the downtrodden. I've come here today, I've cleared all their fines that they were charged, and today they will be happy to join their family members," he said.
Even as he came to their rescue, Babu counselled the convicts to reform and shun the conduct that had led them to prison.
He urged them to be entreprising and be of value to their families and society at large.
"I want to advise them that as they go back to society, they should remember that it is the responsibility of a man to work, it is the responsibility of a man to provide for the family, it is the responsibility of a man to ensure that they don't sleep. Why? Because the Bible says that a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the arms and poverty will attack you like an armed robber. That is in Proverbs," Babu said.
