Babies With These Names Could Become Billionaires
We all want our children to be happy, healthy, safe, and relatively successful. If they happen to become billionaires, that wouldn’t be so bad, would it?
What if you could set your kid up from the start to manifest money? Well, according to a new study, certain baby names may be associated with a very high net worth. The blog Gamblizard looked at Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List to determine the most common names for men and women who account for the 2,700 wealthiest people on Earth.
While the richest man to walk among us is Elon Musk, his name didn’t make the list. Instead, the boy’s name Michael came out on top, given that 50 billionaires share this moniker in common, such as Michael Dell and Michael Bloomberg. Mikes also count, FYI.
After Michael, John was the second most common billionaire name for boys, according to the study, with 46 nine-figure earners claiming this moniker. Next up? Andrew, with 31 billionaires who have this name.
Here is the rest of the list:
On the girls’ side, Maria is the most common name among the 13% of billionaires that are represented by females.
Here's the rest of the girl names:
It turns out that ten out of 369 women who can call themselves millionaires are named Maria, or a variant of it. Meanwhile, several of the female billionaires on the Forbes list are heiresses to the Walmart fortune, including Ann Walton Kroenke and Alice Walton.
Of course, common sense tells us a name can’t really predict one’s chances of making mega bucks. But as Jamie Wall, a casino analyst and personal finance strategist at Gamblizard said about the results of the study, “While a name alone won’t guarantee billionaire status, if you’re aiming to set your child up for success, why not take every opportunity?”
It’s hard to argue with that!
I’d add that the billionaires list is a great source of inspiration for baby names in general, even if you don’t select one of the top options. The list includes names from countries all over the world, so you just may stumble upon an option that you’ve not yet considered—and even a name you’ll fall in love with. And hey, if your baby grows up to make billions, it’s a bonus, right?
