Avengers: Secret Wars is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, and the sequel to Avengers: Doomsday. It will be the forty-second film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the sixth and final film of Phase Six, as well as the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. It is being directed Anthony Russo and Joe Russo and written by Stephen McFeely. It will be produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is scheduled to be released on May 7, 2027.
On July 23, 2022, it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that two Avengers films were in development at Marvel Studios, the first being Avengers: Doomsday, and the follow-up with Avengers: Secret Wars.[8]
On October 3, 2022, Deadline reported that Michael Waldron was hired to write the screenplay for the film, after previously working on Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.[9]
On January 21, 2023, Deadline reported that Jonathan Majors would reprise his role as Kang the Conqueror in the film.[10]
On June 13, 2023, Disney announced they had pushed back the films release date to May 7, 2027. This comes in line of the ongoing writers strike in America.[1]

On July 17, 2024, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Joe Russo and Anthony Russo were in early talks to direct the film.[13]
On July 29, 2024, it was revealed that Alan Silvestri had been hired to compose the score for the film.[14]
On February 11, 2025, in an interview with Deadline, Anthony Mackie revealed that filming is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026 in London.[15]
