Arsenal Nigeria's Ademola Lookman nears Arsenal move after fallout

English Premier League side, Arsenal football club are planning a surprise transfer for Nigerian winger, Ademola Lookman this summer.

The Premier League club has started talks with Atalanta to sign him before the new season begins.

Lookman, who plays for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, is entering the last few months of his contract with Atalanta in Italy.

Reports say he is likely to leave soon, especially after having problems with Atalanta’s former manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, last season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign, and he believes Lookman will add more speed, creativity, and goals to his team’s attack.

Arteta has been looking for more options on the wings to compete with players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, especially as Arsenal prepares for another tough season in the Premier League and Champions League.

Meanwhile, Atalanta are already preparing for life without Lookman. The club has agreed a deal to sign Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton as his replacement. Sulemana, who is a fast and skilful winger from Ghana, will cost Atalanta around €21.5 million (£18.3 million) including add-ons, with an initial payment of €17.5 million (£15 million).

Sulemana normally plays as a left winger for Southampton and is expected to continue in that position once he joins Atalanta. His arrival will make it easier for Atalanta to release Lookman to Arsenal if negotiations are successful.

Arsenal fans are excited about the possible arrival of Lookman, who has impressed with his pace, dribbling, and goals in Serie A. They hope he will bring more energy and help the team compete for trophies next season.
